After 25 years on the creative agency side, Karin joined Lyft as VP of Creative in 2021. Her move was prompted by a desire to build a faster and more nimble process where creativity could be set free with fewer layers and a greater alignment around a shared mission. A mission standing on the right side of history. In her first year there she rebuilt Lyft’s internal creative, production, and marketing program management teams and renewed their agency roster, lead a total redesign of the brand’s voice look and feel, and brought Lyft’s joyful spark back through purpose lead social, vibrant entertainment and brand partnership creative, business driving product and engagement marketing as well as record-setting acquisition campaigns.

Karin was raised in Norway and Mexico, educated in Switzerland, and started her career as an Art Director and Creative Director at Goodby Silverstein and Partners in San Francisco.

A breaker of glass ceilings Karin next became Executive Creative Director at WPP’S Blue Hive in London, responsible for Ford’s advertising across Europe. With a staggering range of clients, cultures, and languages, Karin functioned as a quasi-U.N. Secretary, using creativity as the glue to achieve pan-European collaboration. As her London office expanded from 80 to 200 people, Karin helped found and build four new offices for national markets, leading creative work that shattered Ford’s previous sales records, and brought the brand to the forefront in social media.

In 2015 Karin joined FCB West in San Francisco as Chief Creative Officer (later rising to co-President) as part of a team that rebuilt and doubled that office in three years, creating work for Levi’s and Clorox that brought record ROI and transformed those legacy brands into contemporary success stories, finding relevance with younger and more diverse audiences and winning awards at the Cannes Lions, the One Show and D&AD. Subsequently, the FCB Network won the Most Awarded network agency at Cannes in 2019 and at the One Show in 2020.

Karin regularly judges at the Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clio’, and the One Show. She has led panels and held talks at the Cannes Lions Festival and spoken at among others the Creative Equals Conference in London and at Berkeley Haas School of Business Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She recently joined the board of Togetherr.com, a new and disruptive platform that aims to be the fantasy football of global creative talent, curating creative swat teams for ambitious brands.
